Mar 16, 2017 press release. the congressional lgbt equality caucus announced opposition to the proposed replacement to the affordable care act. the replacement bill, called the “american health care act” (ahca), would cut off health care access to tens of millions of americans, including millions of lgbt people. The u.s. center for disease control provides information and resources on some of the health issues and inequities affecting lgbt communities. links to other information sources and resources are also provided, meant for the general public, health care providers, public health professionals, and public health students. The lgbtq health caucus (est. 1975) is a forum for public health workers interested in gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender issues. the caucus is designed to provide a focus on the special issues of the lgbt public health work force and to provide current and accurate information on the unique health needs of lgbt people. But for far too long, discriminatory policies across the country have prevented lgbtq people from receiving the care they need and deserve,” said equality caucus co chair angie craig (mn 02). “i am thrilled that the biden administration has chosen to right this wrong by prioritizing the health and wellbeing of all americans and combatting. “the issues and legislation prioritized by the lgbtq caucus, most importantly lgbtq equality, have been set aside for too long. but i want members of the lgbtq community across the commonwealth to know that this caucus, at almost 70 members strong, is poised and ready to fight for the health, safety and well being of all lgbtq pennsylvanians.
